Examples of Our Work
Below are some recent examples of our work. Over the course of our careers we have had the opportunity to work with a variety of organizations, from start-ups and large multi-national companies to government agencies and non-profits. Click below for a full list of our experience.
Empowering People to Stay Ahead of Cancer
The Prevent Cancer Foundation® is the only U.S.-based nonprofit organization solely dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection. After over 35 years of innovation and ground breaking cancer work, the foundation partnered with BIG Acts to help set their vision and mission for the next 30+ years. We worked with the leadership team to rearticulate their vision and mission, as well as, developed a series of organizational commitments to serve as guardrails to ensure they stay focused on the right things to fulfill their mission. Additionally, we helped the team develop a set of culture values to ensure everyone in the organization understood the “requirements of citizenship” in the organization.
Revolutionizing Health, One Gut at a Time
BIG Acts is working with Tend, a Seattle-based company developing personalized approaches to balanced microbiomes. BIG Acts is helping Tend crystalize their company vision and purpose. We are also developing a brand strategy that operationalizes the brand in a way that emotionally connects with consumers and creates a high level of demand, engagement, and attachment to Tend’s nature-based innovations. Fundamentally, we are helping Tend establish the guardrails and focus to create a positive transformation in personal wellness for all powered by their innovative & natural microbiome products & services.
Catalyzing Positive Environmental Actions by Mapping Human Motivating Values
A proprietary research project designed to help environmental organizations better speak to and engage with key stakeholders in order to drive the critical environmental actions that the world needs.
BIG Acts is conducting original, primary research to identify the key mindset patterns across the surprisingly diverse pro-environment US Adult population – a population that includes all political and religious orientations. With the information, organizations will be armed with research-based insights to more deeply connect with people by speaking more to their Mindset (i.e., their Motivating Values). Ultimately, this will be a much more effective way for these organizations to drive the environmental actions they are seeking, as opposed to the current approach that typically assumes that all “environmentalists” are primarily motivated by the same thing, an abiding love of nature. **We will invite diverse environmental organizations and outdoor-oriented companies to partner in this research. Creating a Platform for Great Minds from Leading Liberal Arts Schools to Become the Next Generation of Courageous Business Leaders
The social and environmental crises facing our world demand that all educational institutions help students, theoretically and practically, understand how businesses can be and are being forces for positive social and environmental impact. It’s a choice.
BIG Acts founders, Becca and Jeremy, have co-created and launched Capitalism for the Common Good in partnership with student leaders of the Bowdoin College Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club located in Maine. In February 2021, the group inaugurated a mini-incubator program to help students learn by doing: building business concepts over the course of a semester, designed to be economically profitable and positively beneficial to people + planet. Alumni will be involved to expand the program’s depth and breadth.
Bowdoin College is a highly respected liberal arts college in Maine, which has at its heart the “Common Good.”
